Maryland Cownose Ray Slaughter Opponents Take Dead Aim at Corporate Supporters, Calling Bass Pro Shops & Costa Sunglasses 'Cruel, Unethical Corporate Creeps Supporting Psychopathic Abuse'

MECHANICSVILLE, MD – In a new video, animal protection watchdog SHARK took dead aim at the corporate supporters of a bloody sports slaughter of Atlantic Cownose Ray, calling the sponsors "disgusting...cruel and unethical corporate creeps supporting psychopathic abuse."

SHARK Wednesday named Bass Pro Shops as a corporate supporter and Costa Del Mar, Inc., a high end brand of polarized sunglasses, as a corporate sponsor in this tell-all video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3yW-5xT1OY

SHARK, an international animal protection watchdog group, and Fish Feel, the sole organization working exclusively for the protection of all fish said this week that more than 100 bowfishers in dozens of boats participated in the so-called "Battle of the Rays" on the Patuxent River tributary of Chesapeake Bay.

SHARK (SHowing Animals Respect and Kindness) and Fish Feel asked Maryland to ban the tournament contest killing of the Cownose Ray, which were mercilessly shot with arrows at point-blank range and beaten with metal bats by bowfishers last week before being dumped in the Patuxent River.

Undercover video was released earlier this week: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2H-aY-5s6I and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyLZaOS9zDs&feature=youtu.be.

"Bass Pro Shops doesn't just support this mindless killing, its people partake in it. Bass Pro Shop sells equipment for this abuse and it wants everyone to know that is not just in the business of selling to sickos, its people are sickos," said SHARK President Steve Hindi in the video released Wednesday.

SHARK is asking people worldwide are now being asked to contact the corporate offices of Bass Pro Shops and Costa Del Mar, Inc. about their participation in the defenseless killing.

"If (corporate supporters) want to support animal abuse, we'll inform the world of that support. From now on, corporate supporters of cruel slaughters like the Cownose Ray killing can expect to be exposed and held responsible for their support of cruelty," promised Hindi.
